Notes on the conventions used in this wiki

Miscellaneous Conventions

Try and use CamelCase words to name pages rather than brackets and double quotes. If every page follows the same convention "lucky linking" is more likely to happen.

To link to files in Subversion, use the SubversionLinkMacro. This links to the ViewCV Subversion browser.

Projects and Categories

Most of the pages on the wiki contain information that is relevant to all, or many, projects but some pages are about one project in particular.

To identify pages as being about a project use wiki categories (see CategoryCategory).

  1. Create a page about your project. Suffix the name with "Project". E.g. the page about the Cityware project is CitywareProject.

  2. Categorise your project page with CategoryProject.

  3. Categorise your project page with a new category that will be used to group all pages for your project. The name of this category is CategoryProjectNameProject. E.g. the category for the CitywareProject is CategoryCitywareProject.

  4. Create the new CategoryProjectNameProject page (by clicking on it's link). Choose the CategoryTemplate as the template for your new page.

  5. Categorise any new pages about your project with the CategoryProjectNameProject category you just created. For example all pages specific to the CitywareProject are tagged with CategoryCitywareProject.
